Picking The Right Stroller With Some Help From The Baby Cubby

Ahhhh the baby stroller.

One of the core items in any moms arsenal. For me a stroller was an absolute necessity. When I was pregnant with Avery I knew I would need one (or three) and I had no idea what the heck to pick.

We love to go places! Babywearing is RAD, don't get me wrong, but sometimes you just need a safe place to put your baby down. I can remember walking into Babies R Us as a first time mom and just feeling overwhelmed with options.

I wish I had some sort of guide to help me figure out which stroller was right for our family.

A wonderful company called The Baby Cubby went ahead and did all the research and work for you! So with some help from them I would like to share some tips on how to choose what's right for you.

  • Some Questions to Ask Yourself-
  1. What will you be using the stroller for? Trips to the park? Strolling city streets? Jogging? Walking around the mall/taking Target trips?
This is kind of tricky for me. We do all of these things! Especially the last one....

Park trips would require something with a large canopy and maneuverability. A city stroller would need a nice big basket and preferably be easy to fold. For jogging you would need a stroller with big tires and stability to keep your little one safe. It would be extra convenient to have a stroller that is car seat compatible for mall trips.

     2.  Are you going to make more babies?

This question can be hard to answer but I wish I would have asked myself this when shopping for our first stroller. At the time I had one baby on my mind and that was all! I didn't even know there were strollers out there that could easily convert to doubles!

   3. How does it feel?

If you're going to be pushing this thing around for 2 years (give or take) it better have a great ride! You want to be able to push it easily because the last thing you should have to worry about is a janky wheel. Trust me there will be so many other things to worry about like; how to keep your toddler from squirming out of his seat into oncoming traffic, or "where are the freakin' puffs?" during a  melt down.

Those are three main questions you can ask yourself. Below this infographic I'll include some of my favorites and why I think they would work.

If you're going to make more babies-

Consider investing in a stroller that can convert into a double.

Why it's rad-
Huge basket, car seat compatible, bassinet option, tons of configurations, adjustable handlebars, smooth ride.

*I also love the Baby Jogger City Select for all the same reasons. It is a little less pricey- here
