7 Truths I Want My Daughter To Cling To feat. Matilda Jane Clothing - Raising Up Wonder

7 Truths I Want My Daughter To Cling To feat. Matilda Jane Clothing

Thank heaven for little girls you guys! What an honor it is to raise a little lady. With this honor comes responsibility though. Our word right now is such a scary place. There are certain things I always want Avery to remember as she grows up. Things that I hope will carry her through the ups and downs of this life.

1. That she can do anything. (and I mean anything)

President? Sure! Astronaut? Of course! Just the other day Avery told me that the big slide at the park was "for boys" what?! She is 2 years old! I'm not sure who told her that but I told her that she can go down any slide she wants, they are for boys and girls. She smiled so big and went down that huge slide.

2. To love others always.

One major problem I think our world has today is a lack of love. People who genuinely love their neighbors don't do things to hurt them. It's that simple. I want Avery to remember to love everyone, regardless of their background or their outward appearance.

3. That she is loved.

Obviously I want her to know that I love her with a great and unconditional love. But also I want her to know that she is loved by a God who is so much greater than anything she could ever be facing.

4.  That she is fearfully and wonderfully made.

13For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14

I hope that if she ever feels down she remembers this truth.

5. That her mistakes will never define her worth.

As humans we make mistakes. Whatever they may be, how bad or how troubling does not matter. What matters is we can learn from these mistakes and it is all a part of life.

6. That she is beautiful and smart.

I want her to know that she is both of these things and promise to compliment her intelligence as much as her beauty.

7. To be her full and complete self always.

I want her to remember that people will love her for who she truly is.

Before I go I do want to say thank you to Matilda Jane for supplying the outfits included in this post. I've been getting Avery's clothes from them for about a year now and I am so happy with them! This is a company that prides themselves on making clothes that make you happy. They encourage little ones to stay little and to twirl whenever and wherever they feel fit.

They also have clothes for women that I adore!

Matilda Jane is sold at trunk shows through Trunk Keepers, who act as your personal stylist and connection to the brand. Trunk shows are fun, easy, and relaxed parties where you, your friends, and your girls can spend time laughing, making memories, and finding that perfect twirl-worthy outfit together. I hope this list is something you can relate too. I know that the years to come are sure to be a wild ride and I hope that I can help her know these truths at a young age.

I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving, we will talk soon!

In love, Rachel
