Hi there friends hope you are all doing good! I am so excited for what I have to share today it is such a sweet way to show a new mama some love. One thing I absolutely love doing is just loving on new moms. Maybe because I had a really hard postpartum period with Avery and I just needed all the support and love I could get my hands on!
So many emotions are running through your soul the moment you have a baby. You’re overjoyed, but scared, can’t stop smiling but also can’t stop crying, you are exhausted but running of leftover adrenaline from delivery. It is a crazy time in any woman’s life! So many of my friends are pregnant right now and I usually love bringing them a meal but thought of something new I could do for them!
I went to Walmart and put together a new mama basket! Now don’t be sneaking any cute little onesies in here, this is just for the mommy! Here is a photo of what mine had inside:
Magazine: For when her eyes get too tired of looking at her phone during those late night feeds.
A Cozy Blanket: To snuggle under with baby!
Bath bomb: Because maybe someone will hold the baby while she takes a bath?! (ps talk to your dr about how long you should wait postpartum to take a bath)
Under Eye Masks: Because undereye bags come on another level postpartum.
A Good Water Cup: I have never been more thirsty than I was when I was breastfeeding! Even if mom isn’t breastfeeding it is so important she takes care of herself by drinking lots and lots of water.
Now here’s the part where you pat her on the back and explain why you stuck some Preparation H® in her goody basket.
Deep breath mama, that first poop after delivery is WILD. But in all honesty, pregnancy and childbirth put your body through a lot and hemorrhoids are just one thing that may come with. Nothing to get weird about! It is totally normal and now she has everything she needs just in case!

In those early days there is not much to do as far as helping with the baby but there is always something you can do to help mama out! And she will appreciate it more than you know!
